Cached service record for "Oly", John Alexander Ross, prepared a remarkable
22 years after he'd died. The army seems to get around to paperwork
faithfully, if not promptly. It's one of the reasons I found it so
improbable that they'd allow his body to lie, unburied, within sight of
men in trenches. I suppose it happened, but to a decorated major?
The story is still very constricted, 22 years later, compared to learning
from the 'Kenora Great War Project' that 98% of Oly's company died with
him.
