Similarly, on the private side, how many trucks are NOT being stupidly used as commuter vehicles, but actually need to be trucks for carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and gardeners? The professional gardener beside this truck told me he got it at a real bargain and it's been wonderful for him. He doesn't need all that battery for the truck.
He needs the big truck battery to recharge a machine like this a few times a day. This is a loader, more used for landscaping. I think he was on a big power mower or something. All electric, and the big vehicles can charge up the little ones in the field! A whole new way.
You know what else only travels a few hundred kilometres a day? Ambulances. And a whole lot of stuff in an ambulance requires power that they had to take from the vehicle alternator anyway.
Getting into the bigger iron still, there was a medium-size dump truck on display, though the model didn't have an electric motor - apparently that can be customized!
And bigger iron still, there were actual semi-trailer engines on display:
With the king of them all, the big Peterbilt, open to show the electric engine:
And there's still more to show. There was test-driving. Indoors.
