2019 Sept 11 - Business As Usual During Construction

Rotating the camera 180 degrees, this is the placid scene across the street. Background at right, there's a cafe there, the only one past Denman in our far part of the West End. However,these people are lounging in front of it. The cafe is surrounded by a tiny but wonderful public space created with a few benches, and a bunch of very large plant pots - currently sporting the most amazing giant leaves. These tiny parks - right outside apartment-dweller's doors - are the most heavily-used parks in Vancouver. It's a pity the one across the street had to lose so much because they picked a very awkward water main alignment rather than put another feedermain up Chilco a block away.
