People come to Prospect Point for the views of nature, and I sure have, but here were some random thoughts from the last visit. This set of condos in North Vancouver are very clever work. The building is integrated into the steep hill (well, basically, it's a mountain) so that everybody has a view, but everybody is also on ground level of their 'step' of the staircase. Harsh topography turned into a Good Thing.
I was trying for something elegant. Few structures are more-so than the Lion's Gate Bridge, but when I zoomed in on it to combine the elegant curves with the dramatic mountain backdrop, all you see is the frankly ugly metal bracing and cables, and of course, the lights and so forth of the road. The mountain is instead contrasted with harsh angles of metal. I can't decide whether I like it.
